DarLink AI review: memory, media costs and billing in the Netherlands

When these terms and prices applied

Plans, token packs and legal terms: checked November 4, 2026. The legal documents carry an August 2025 update date. A plan check is different from a conversation test: no measured recall time, Dutch voice quality or response speed is available here. The word “memory” below refers to a feature DarLink lists for a particular plan.

The cost of the whole term, not just the monthly equivalent

Staying with Advanced and changing only the term takes the displayed monthly rate from $27.99 to $21.99 for a quarter or $18.99 for a year. The annual option therefore commits $227.88 at the posted rate.

The figures below retain the merchant’s symbol. DarLink’s terms say applicable taxes are normally included unless it states otherwise. The public view does not split out Dutch BTW at 21% or show an amount labelled EUR. If you have a strict euro budget, wait for the order summary to show the transaction currency and the amount due. Consider an illustrated story with twenty pictures and three videos in one month. Twenty pictures cost 40 coins; three videos cost 60. That uses all 100 coins on Essential. With no further media, the month stays at the displayed $12.99. One more video requires another 20 coins. If you buy the smallest posted pack then, the month becomes $22.98, and you have 80 coins left from the top-up. That difference is easy to miss when comparing subscriptions by monthly price alone.

DarLink AI discounts: how to pay less

No promo codes right now, but you can still pay less: longer billing periods lower the monthly price. Prices are shown with a $ sign. On Essential, the yearly plan costs $119.88, or $9.99 a month, about 23% less than paying $12.99 monthly. Advanced drops from $27.99 to $18.99 a month on the yearly plan (32% less), and Ultimate drops from $49.99 to $32.99 (34% less). Quarterly billing sits in between and saves 15% to 21%.

A free plan exists, but its limits are not published. Paid plans include 100, 300 or 500 coins per month, depending on the plan. An image costs 2 coins and a video 20 coins. Extra coin packs range from 100 coins for $9.99 to 7,500 coins for $599.99.

Voluntary cancellation brings no prorated refund. You cancel in the website settings or by written notice to support, and a refund within 24 hours with minimal use is only an exception at the company's discretion.

What the character can remember and what media costs

Imagine writing a detective story. You establish in the opening scene that the fictional detective hates lifts. Keeping that detail until the end of the scene is the sort of task Essential’s Basic memory is meant to cover. If you want to come back next week and keep the preference without restating it, Advanced’s Enhanced memory is the relevant published feature. Ultimate calls its version Living memory. The company gives no guaranteed recall percentage or number of earlier turns for any of them.

Media uses a separate allowance on every tier: 100 coins each month on Essential, 300 on Advanced and 500 on Ultimate. At 20 tokens a video, an untouched Advanced allowance is enough for 15 video generations. Using coins on images reduces that number. Advanced allows 9,000 messages a month. A buyer who only wants ten voice choices gains no extra voices by moving from Advanced to Ultimate.

What the adult-content policy covers

The plan FAQ allows consensual adult material subject to the terms on each paid tier. The service is for adults (18+). A fictional adult roleplay character and a media generation have different limits: being allowed to write a scene does not give unlimited coins to illustrate it. The terms also identify a separate subscription for a particular influencer’s AI persona. That access category is distinct from the three public price tiers, whose cards do not quote a separate persona price.

What “private” means in DarLink’s own documents

The privacy FAQ on the plan page uses broad language about private chats. The actual privacy policy describes encryption during transmission and processing by outside companies, including hosting and payment services. It also permits the use of anonymized conversation data to improve models. A guarantee that only the sender and recipient can read the conversation does not follow from those terms. Do not put somebody else’s private messages into a character description to make a scene feel realistic. Checked November 4, 2026.

For someone in the Netherlands, the policy specifically addresses EU users and requests for access, correction, erasure and portability. DarLink says you can delete the profile in settings or ask for assistance. Active records are removed, while backups and records needed for legal reasons may remain. The document gives no fixed number of days for every copy to disappear. What is visible before making an account?

You can inspect the subscription cards and token packs as a visitor. Choosing Essential opens an account sign-in dialog. The terms set the minimum age at 18+ and treat use or registration as confirmation that you meet it. They also allow an account to be blocked until age verification if the operator suspects otherwise. A date of birth, an identity document and a payment card are different checks; DarLink does not specify a standard Dutch identity-check procedure in these terms.

A statement label and a cancellation route to keep

A payment made on the website should show DARLINK AI on the statement, according to section 15 of the terms. Ordinary subscriptions renew unless cancelled in advance. Annual crypto payments are an exception: the payment FAQ lists no automatic renewal for that arrangement. The FAQ names credit and debit cards; it does not confirm iDEAL.

For web purchases, DarLink lists account settings or contacting support. The refund policy specifically describes written notice and says access lasts until the term ends. Save the date and wording of your request and check whether the next renewal is still scheduled. The company gives approximately 72 hours as its response time. It does not promise a refund for unused days simply because you have stopped using the app. Store-billed subscriptions, where applicable, follow the store’s own cancellation route.

Where the sales copy needs a closer read

Paid-plan coins are presented as free coins each month. The 300 on Advanced are included in its subscription price; they do not establish a daily reward on an unpaid account. Similarly, unlimited messages on Ultimate do not make video free. One top-up of 100 tokens lists at $9.99, whereas 7,500 list at $599.99. Before buying the larger balance, decide how much you will use within the term. The refund policy rules out cash back on unused tokens when you voluntarily cancel.

Three ways to see whether the format suits you

DarLink gives a detailed paid allowance but no firm free-message count on the public plan selector. Nomi specifies a continuing free allowance of 50 messages per day, which suits someone who wants to come back on several days before making a decision. Candy.ai documents a smaller introductory sample: five messages across characters, one character creation and one image. Those figures, checked October 28–29, 2026, describe different ways to try conversation; they are not scores for Dutch fluency.

Deciding on a term

If you mainly want a character to retain a few preferences between conversations, compare a month of Advanced with the price of an entire year before committing. If you mainly make still images, 100 coins already cover 50 generations at the posted rate. A lower annual rate is useful only if you expect to use the service over that year. If you need guaranteed service in Dutch or an invoice showing a fixed euro total before sign-in, the public cards do not settle those questions.
