18+ only. This page covers a paid chat service built around fictional adult characters and is intended for adult readers in the Netherlands.

This Candy AI review starts with the gap between what the offer page shows and what an account pays over time. Candy.ai is run by EverAI Limited in Malta. Its subscriptions page shows $9.99 for the first month of Premium and $13.99 at renewal (checked 2026-10-28). Both figures use a dollar symbol with no currency code, and the page does not say whether Dutch BTW is included. A buyer in the Netherlands cannot read a confirmed euro amount from the public offer. Currency, tax and the next renewal date only appear together on the payment summary at checkout.

The free introduction is small and fixed. The official free-user help lists 5 chat messages across all characters, 1 created character and 1 generated image, and it mentions no daily reset. Premium adds 100 tokens a month and Premium Plus adds 330. The official pages we checked did not show token pack prices or the token cost of individual actions, so tokens are a separate spend with no fixed upper limit.

The character creator offers realistic and anime styles, and the help pages describe video and selfies inside the chat. On privacy, the policy dated 2026-10-19 allows interactions to be used for AI training, with possible human review of de-identified interactions, and the policy material makes no end-to-end encryption claim. Readers still comparing services can weigh Candy against others with different free quotas and billing setups in the overview of the best AI girlfriend apps.

Criterion scores

Provisional (7/8 criteria). Scores are computed from each app's published terms, pricing, policies and store listings on the dates shown. We have not yet run paid test accounts; when we do, experience criteria will be added and the cap on the total score removed. Affiliate links never change a score. A score marked Full data rests on all eight criteria. Provisional means five to seven criteria could be scored from published facts. Limited data means only three or four criteria could be scored; such totals are capped at 3.5 and should be read as a floor, not a verdict. Apps with fewer than three scorable criteria get no total. Totals are weighted means of the scored criteria only and move when missing facts get documented. Full methodology

When these details were checked

Page updated 2026-10-29. We checked plan prices on the official subscriptions page and the free-user and paid-user help articles on 2026-10-28. We checked the EU withdrawal terms in section 10.4.3, the home-screen installation instructions and the listed image styles on 2026-10-29. The privacy policy in force at that point is dated 2026-10-19. We viewed the Trustpilot profile and the Reddit threads mentioned further down on 2026-10-28. Candy's promotions change, so the amount, term and renewal date on your own order summary take precedence over anything on this page.

Candy.ai prices and what a month can really cost

The official subscriptions page lists three Premium terms (checked 2026-10-28). The monthly plan costs $9.99 for the first month and then renews at $13.99. The quarterly plan charges $26.97 at once for three months and presents that as $8.99 per month. The yearly plan charges $47.88 upfront and presents it as $3.99 per month. All three figures use a dollar symbol only. The page states neither an ISO currency code nor a Dutch tax-inclusive price, so we have not converted the amounts into euros.

For Dutch buyers, the BTW rule is simple. The general rate is 21%, but you should not add it to a figure that may already be gross. Only the final payment summary shows whether a displayed amount includes BTW. If the summary lists BTW on its own line, the total line is what leaves your account. If it shows one inclusive figure, adding 21% yourself would count the tax twice.

Over twelve months the terms differ a lot. Paying monthly at the displayed figures means $9.99 once and $13.99 eleven times, $163.88 in total, provided the renewal amount stays as shown. Four quarterly payments of $26.97 would come to $107.88, assuming the quarterly amount renews unchanged, which the public page does not confirm. The yearly plan is $47.88 in a single charge. It is cheapest on paper, but it also commits the most money on the first day, and the EU withdrawal right covers only the initial purchase, not later renewals.

Tokens add a second layer to the monthly cost. Premium includes 100 tokens a month and Premium Plus 330. These are spending units, not a count of finished images or videos. 100 tokens do not equal 100 completed actions, because the official pages we checked did not list the token cost of each action, and they did not show token pack prices either. Your actual monthly figure is the subscription plus whatever you choose to spend on tokens. It helps to set a separate top-up limit before you start and to check the token balance after a few days of ordinary use, rather than assuming the grant will last the whole month.

According to the official Premium Plus help article, Premium Plus adds 20 memory slots, 5 chat clones and a 10% top-up bonus on quarterly or yearly plans. The pages we checked did not show its price. The bonus only matters to someone who buys top-ups regularly; for an account that stays within the monthly grant it changes nothing.

Candy's payment help names major credit cards, cryptocurrency, Apple Pay and Google Pay for subscriptions and token purchases, and notes that local availability varies. It does not name iDEAL, SEPA direct debit or PayPal. A card logo or a dollar sign does not prove a euro checkout or iDEAL support, so if you want to pay through a Dutch bank method, look at the checkout before entering card details. The guide to AI girlfriend apps in the Netherlands shows how other services present prices to Dutch users.

Features: characters, images, memory and access

Custom characters. Every account can create characters, and the free tier includes exactly 1. The creation page offers a realistic or an anime visual style (checked 2026-10-29). Characters built here should be fictional adults. Keep your real name, home town and employer out of any persona description, since character settings are part of the account data covered by the retention periods in the privacy section.

Images, selfies and video. The paid help pages list image generation, video and selfies sent inside the chat. The free account allows 1 generated image in total. Paid output uses the monthly token grant, and because the pages we checked did not publish per-action token costs, nobody can say in advance how many images or clips a month of Premium covers. If you mainly want written conversation, you can ignore the media allowance.

Memory. Dedicated memory tools come with Premium Plus, which lists 20 memory slots. Candy does not publish a context-window size for standard Premium, and we have not measured recall over long conversations for this page. Read the slot count as capacity, not as proof that a character will stay consistent through a long storyline. Premium Plus also lists 5 chat clones, which only matters if you plan to run more than one version of the same conversation.

Access and platforms. Candy runs in the browser. The official character-creation page includes Add to Home Screen instructions, so you can keep the service on a phone like an app (checked 2026-10-29). We found no native App Store or Google Play listing linked from the official site. APKs or cracked builds passed around elsewhere are not among the access routes the official site describes, and they fall outside the account, billing and deletion controls covered on this page.

Language. We have not assessed the quality of Dutch-language conversation. Official help lists English and French, with the chat language following the site setting after a reset (checked 2026-10-29). An English marketing page tells you nothing reliable about how a character handles Dutch, so the 5 free messages are the only cheap way to find out before paying.

Adult content: what the policy allows and what it blocks

The Premium Plus help article says Candy.ai permits adult text and adult images for users who pass its 18+ gate. A blocked-content policy sits alongside that permission and names three prohibited categories: sexual content involving minors, deceptive or harmful impersonation of real people, and illegal exploitation and abuse. Adult content being allowed does not mean every request will be carried out. When a reply or an image is refused, the blocked-content policy is the document to consult.

We read the policy documents but generated no adult content for this page, so nothing here describes how strict or permissive the filtering is in daily use. On paper, the line is clear: invented adult characters are within the service's scope, and anything involving minors or the identity of real people is outside it.

The small free allowance also limits what a newcomer can learn. With 5 messages and 1 image in total, a free account shows very little of how moderation behaves over a longer conversation. If adult scope is the deciding factor for you, read the blocked-content policy in full before choosing a paid term, and pick the shortest term while you find out whether the service fits.

Privacy: Malta operator, training use and retention periods

Candy.ai is operated by EverAI Limited, registered in Malta under number C107181, at 56 Central Business Centre, Triq Is-Soll, Santa Venera SVR 1833. The privacy policy dated 2026-10-19 governs how data is handled. Data-protection requests go to [email protected], and [email protected] is the general support address.

For intimate conversation, two points stand out. First, the policy covers the use of interactions for AI training and allows possible human review of de-identified interactions. That is a contractual permission. It does not show whether any specific conversation was reviewed, but it does mean you should not treat chats as sealed. Second, the policy material makes no end-to-end encryption claim. Write as if a reviewer could read a de-identified version of what you type, and keep identifying details out of the story.

Retention depends on the type of record. Account data is generally kept for up to 3 years after last activity, possibly less under conditions the policy sets out. Financial records are kept for 10 years, and marketing data generally for at most 2 years after your last interaction. Erasure requests are handled without undue delay, subject to the exceptions in the policy. Deleting an account does not remove payment history: because financial records are kept for 10 years, transactions under the EverAI name can outlast the account.

According to the official help article, you delete an account through My Profile, Settings, Danger Zone and Delete Account, followed by a confirmation step. The pages we checked did not document a separate control for removing individual chats, so deleting the whole account is the documented way to remove conversation data. Cancel the subscription before deleting; the two are separate controls, described in the billing section below.

Sign-up and age check

Candy's underage policy describes an 18+ affirmation gate. You confirm that you are an adult, and the policy reserves the option of additional checks where local rules require them. The pages we checked showed no Netherlands-specific procedure, document check or named third-party age-assurance provider. In practice this is self-declaration, which is lighter than the selfie or document checks some competitors describe.

Self-declaration puts the responsibility on the account holder. On a shared phone or laptop with a saved login, it does little to stop someone else opening the service. Sign out after use and keep the home-screen shortcut off shared devices.

A new account starts with the documented free allowance of 5 messages, 1 character and 1 image. We found no free trial code or extended free period on the official pages, and the official help describes no daily top-up of free messages. The help articles we read did not say whether sign-up needs an email address or phone number, so check the sign-up screen itself.

Bank statement, cancellation and auto-renewal

Charges appear under the billing descriptor EverAI, not under the Candy name, and that causes confusion. In an r/Scams thread (viewed 2026-10-28), commenters link unexpected EverAI charges to Candy AI and describe differing billing and refund experiences. These are unverified individual accounts and do not establish fraud, but they show why it helps to know the descriptor before your first statement arrives.

All Premium terms renew automatically. To stop renewal, open My Profile, then Settings, choose Unsubscribe and confirm the prompts that follow. You keep access until the end of the current billing period. Cancelling before the renewal date prevents the next charge; on the monthly plan, that renewal is the jump from $9.99 to $13.99.

For EU and UK customers, section 10.4.3 of the terms (checked 2026-10-29) sets out a 14-day withdrawal right for the initial purchase. The period starts on the date the purchase confirmation email was sent. Renewals are not covered. On withdrawal, Candy deducts the prorated value of services already used, and reimbursement is due within 14 days of your notice. The notice must be an unequivocal statement. An email to [email protected] is accepted, and the model withdrawal form is optional.

Outside that statutory route, the terms limit general refund requests to a 24-hour window, with restrictions where tokens have been used. Some third-party pricing sites describe a seven-day premium trial, but we found none on the official pages.

Use the subscription control to stop renewal. The help pages document unsubscribing and account deletion as separate routes, so stop renewal first, check that the subscription shows as cancelled, and only then delete the account. Keep the confirmation emails for both steps, along with the purchase confirmation that starts the 14-day clock.

Red flags to weigh

None of the points below proves misconduct. Each one affects what you pay or what happens to your data, and each is worth checking against your own account.

How Candy compares with Nomi, Secrets AI, SpicyChat and OurDream

We picked the four services below because they differ from Candy on the criteria used here: free allowance, price transparency for euro buyers, adult-content scope and age checks. The selection follows those criteria, not commercial arrangements.

SpicyChat is the clearest contrast on currency. Its Get A Taste plan is listed at €5.95 a month or €60 a year, with the euro amount matching the dollar figure since 2026-09-08 (checked 2026-10-28); it does not say whether BTW is included. It uses third-party age assurance by video selfie in the regions it lists, and its billing descriptor is NDAI.CC.

Nomi.ai is the contrast on free use: 50 messages a day on an indefinite free plan, against Candy's 5 in total. Its official policy does not allow nude companion photos, and it states that conversations are not end-to-end encrypted. Its own marketing lists Standard at US$15.99 a month (checked 2026-10-28).

Secrets AI gives 20 messages a day on its free tier, resetting 24 hours after the first message, and charges US$19.99 a month or US$109.99 a year for Premium with 8000 Moments a month. Like Candy, it publishes a 14-day EU withdrawal rule (checked 2026-10-28). OurDream charges US$19.99 a month with 1000 Dreamcoins, or US$119.88 a year; free accounts spend one coin per chat message, and its help says PayPal is not supported (checked 2026-10-28).

Who Candy suits and who should look elsewhere

Candy makes sense for adults who want a small, clearly documented preview before paying and who are comfortable tracking a subscription and a token budget as two separate costs.

It fits the following readers less well, and they may find a better match among the alternatives.

Frequently asked questions

What is Candy AI?

Candy.ai is a companion chat service for adults, operated by EverAI Limited in Malta. It offers conversations with fictional characters, custom character creation in realistic or anime styles, generated images, video and in-chat selfies. It runs in the browser and can be added to a phone's home screen; we found no native app-store listing linked from the official site (checked 2026-10-29).

Is Candy AI free?

Only as a short preview. The official free-user help lists 5 chat messages across all characters, 1 created character and 1 generated image, with no daily reset stated (checked 2026-10-28). These are totals, not daily limits.

Is there a Candy AI free trial or trial code?

We found no seven-day premium trial and no trial code on the official pages. The closest thing to an introductory offer is the first month of Premium at $9.99, which renews at $13.99 (checked 2026-10-28). Third-party sites that describe a longer trial or a daily free quota contradict the official help.

Is Candy AI legit?

The operator is identifiable: EverAI Limited, Maltese registration number C107181, with charges shown as EverAI on statements. On 2026-10-28 the Trustpilot profile showed a removal notice, so there is no current score. A Reddit thread links unexpected EverAI charges to Candy, but those are unverified individual accounts and do not establish fraud.

Is Candy AI safe for private conversations?

Treat chats as not confidential. The privacy policy dated 2026-10-19 allows interactions to be used for AI training, with possible human review of de-identified interactions, and makes no end-to-end encryption claim. Account data is generally kept up to 3 years after last activity, and financial records for 10 years.

What do Candy AI Reddit threads say?

An r/productreview thread from 2026-09-01 questions whether conversation consistency and extra token spending justify the subscription. An r/Scams thread discusses unexpected EverAI charges and differing refund experiences. We viewed both on 2026-10-28; they are individual reports, not measured findings.

Can I pay Candy AI in euros or with iDEAL?

The public prices use a dollar symbol without a currency code, and the payment help names cards, cryptocurrency, Apple Pay and Google Pay, not iDEAL, SEPA or PayPal. Check the currency, any BTW line and the available methods on the checkout summary. Do not add 21% BTW to a figure that may already include it.

How do I cancel a Candy AI subscription?

Open My Profile, then Settings, select Unsubscribe and confirm the prompts. Plans renew automatically, and access continues until the current billing period ends. Cancel before the renewal date to avoid the next charge.

Can I get a refund from Candy AI?

EU customers have a 14-day withdrawal right on the initial purchase, starting from the date the confirmation email was sent, under section 10.4.3 of the terms (checked 2026-10-29). Renewals are not covered, and the prorated value of services used is deducted. Send an unequivocal statement, for example by email to [email protected]. Other refund requests are limited to a 24-hour window, with restrictions where tokens were used.

How do I delete my Candy AI account?

Go to My Profile, Settings, Danger Zone, Delete Account and confirm. Deletion and cancellation are separate routes, so stop the subscription first. Financial records can be kept for 10 years after the account is gone.
