AI girlfriend Nederland: access, costs and account rules
Dutch guide to AI girlfriend apps: how to access them, payment methods, USD and EUR prices, BTW, GDPR terms, age checks and account deletion.

In this article
18+ only. Every service on this page is for adults and involves fictional adult characters. If you are comparing AI girlfriend Nederland options, start with how you reach the service. An app store listing, a browser account and a Dutch payment that goes through are three separate things, and the services below publish different amounts of evidence for each.
Most of these services run in the browser. OurDream's official community FAQ says there is no native app, but the site can be installed from the browser as a home-screen web app (PWA). Candy.ai's character creator page has Add to Home Screen instructions, checked 2026-10-29, and we found no native store link for it. GirlfriendGPT's download guide describes a PWA install and an Android package file instead of a store edition. Kupid AI is documented as a web service. Nomi is the exception: its official wiki lists iOS, Android, web and PWA. When we checked on 2026-10-28, the official pages do not show a Dutch App Store page for Nomi through a web reader. That tells you nothing about whether the Nomi website works from the Netherlands, so the only takeaway is to sign up through the official site if the store route fails.
GirlfriendGPT needs one extra identity check first. The service covered here runs on gptgirlfriend.online and is operated by NextDay AI Incorporated in Montreal, Canada, with an EU subsidiary, NextDay AI EU Ltd, in Limassol, Cyprus. A search result with a similar name may point to a different product with different terms, so confirm the domain and operator before you enter card details.
Dutch shoppers usually expect iDEAL, SEPA or PayPal. As of the check dates, none of the five services confirms iDEAL or SEPA on its public pages. Candy.ai's help lists major credit cards, crypto, Apple Pay and Google Pay, each with a note that local availability varies. GirlfriendGPT's policy footer shows Visa, Mastercard and Discover, and its terms name CCBill as a processor. Nomi's web terms describe credit-card billing. OurDream's help says directly that it does not support PayPal. Kupid shows euro amounts on its pricing page, but a euro display does not prove there is a Netherlands-specific payment method.
The name on your bank statement matters if you need to trace a charge. Candy.ai gives EverAI as its billing descriptor, and the operator is EverAI Limited in Malta. Nomi's App Store seller name is AI GLIMPSE INC, while its privacy policy names Glimpse.ai, Inc. For the other four, keep the confirmation email, because they publish no statement name.
Age checks are mostly self-declared. Nomi asks for a date of birth, Candy.ai and GirlfriendGPT ask you to confirm you are 18+, and OurDream does the same while reserving the right to add document or biometric checks through third parties where needed. Kupid's terms require users to be 18 or the local legal age; its separate 2257 statement covers content uploaders, not ordinary subscribers. The age verification guide explains how these methods differ from an ID check.
| Service | Access route | Payment evidence | Statement name | Age check |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Nomi | Web, PWA, iOS and Android per official wiki; Dutch App Store page did not open on 2026-10-28 | Credit card per web terms | App Store seller AI GLIMPSE INC | Date of birth (self-declaration) |
| OurDream | Browser and PWA; no native app | PayPal not supported per official help | Keep the receipt | 18+ confirmation; extra checks possible |
| Candy.ai | Browser and home-screen install | Card, crypto, Apple Pay, Google Pay; local availability varies | EverAI | 18+ confirmation; local checks possible |
| Kupid AI | Browser | Euro amounts displayed; method not confirmed | Keep the receipt | 18+ or local legal age in terms |
| GirlfriendGPT | Browser PWA and Android package | Visa, Mastercard, Discover; CCBill in terms | Keep the receipt | 18+ confirmation |
Prices in euro, dollars and BTW
Only one of the five services shows euro amounts publicly, and even that display doesn't tell you the billed total. The rest publish prices in US dollars or with a dollar sign and no currency label. The Dutch standard BTW rate is 21%, but the official pages do not confirm that any of these checkouts shows a total including 21% BTW. Keep each price in its original currency, look for a tax line on the final screen, and don't add 21% to an amount that may already include it.
Nomi lists its Standard plan at US$15.99 per month, US$39.99 for three months and US$99.99 for a year in an official comparison article, checked 2026-10-28. The paid plan advertises up to 10 companions, up to 10 group chats, voice calls and video. The free plan has no end date and allows 50 messages per day, with a 400-character limit per message (800 on paid). Without a subscription, voice is read-only. Nomi Credits are extra: a selfie or art request costs 1 credit, a standard-definition video 6 and a high-definition video 10. You need an active subscription to buy credits, and they do not expire. The credit pack prices Nomi publishes are Canadian App Store prices in CAD, so they don't give a Dutch buyer the euro price.
OurDream lists US$19.99 per month with 1,000 Dreamcoins at purchase and at each renewal, or US$119.88 per year, shown as US$9.99 a month, checked 2026-10-28. The annual plan is charged upfront, not as a monthly debit of US$9.99. The first annual month includes 2,000 coins, 1,000 of them a one-time bonus, and each later month adds 1,000. Its cost guide, dated 2026-03-02, prices standard paid text at 0 coins, a Genius response at 1, an in-chat image at 5, a voice-call minute at 50 and a five-second standard video at 100. So the 1,000 monthly coins cover, for example, 20 voice-call minutes or 200 in-chat images, but not both. Anything beyond that costs extra on top of US$19.99, and coin pack prices are not published.
Candy.ai shows $9.99 for the first month, renewing at $13.99, plus $26.97 for three months (shown as $8.99 a month) and $47.88 for a year (shown as $3.99 a month), checked 2026-10-28. The page uses a dollar sign without naming the currency, so it doesn't prove whether you are charged in USD or EUR. Standard Premium includes 100 tokens per month; Premium Plus includes 330 tokens, 20 memory slots and 5 chat clones. Candy.ai doesn't publish token costs per action, so there's no way to turn 100 tokens into a number of images. The free allowance is 5 chat messages in total across characters, 1 created character and 1 generated image, and no daily reset is mentioned.
Kupid AI's pricing page showed €3.44 per week for Pro next to a crossed-out €12.99, and €5.75 per week for Ultra next to a crossed-out €24.99, checked 2026-10-28. The official pages do not confirm which billing tab produced those figures or what total is charged upfront. Pro lists 25 photos, 8 videos and 12 voice minutes per week plus 4 custom characters; Ultra lists 75 photos, 25 videos, 35 voice minutes per week and 8 custom characters. The pricing page says it is one payment with nothing renewing, but the terms discuss cancellation, so only the checkout will show whether a renewal is set up. Coins that come with a subscription, trial or promotion expire six months after they are granted; packs you buy directly do not.
GirlfriendGPT has no plan price we could confirm. Its terms describe paid allocations of 5,000 to 20,000 messages per month that do not roll over, and an example introductory allowance of 10 to 20 messages in total across 2 to 3 characters, checked 2026-10-28. That is a one-time starting allowance, not a daily one.
To keep a Dutch budget straight, note four things at checkout: the currency, the full term you are charged for, whether BTW is shown as included, and the renewal date. Your card issuer may convert a dollar charge into euro at its own rate, so the amount on your bank statement can differ from the advertised price. The main comparison of AI girlfriend apps lists the same plans side by side with their allowances.
Legal context for Dutch users
All of these services are adults only. Nomi's wiki requires every user and character to be 18+, and Candy.ai, OurDream, GirlfriendGPT and Kupid set 18 or the local legal age in their terms. All five allow adult text in principle, but each lists prohibited content, and Nomi's current wiki policy excludes nude companion photos.
The operators differ most on data protection. Candy.ai's operator is based in Malta and gives [email protected] as a contact. Kupid's operator, Servalot Ltd, is in Cyprus, and its policy describes GDPR rights. GirlfriendGPT is Canadian and describes GDPR rights for EU users. Nomi and OurDream are US companies, with [email protected] and [email protected] as privacy contacts. Retention periods vary a lot. GirlfriendGPT and Kupid normally keep personal data for six years after an account closes. Candy.ai generally keeps account data for up to three years after last activity and financial records for ten years. Nomi says deletion removes personal information within about 28 days, with exceptions. OurDream processes deletion in 24 to 48 hours but may keep shared popular characters and legal records. Candy.ai's and OurDream's policies allow user content to be used for training AI models, and Nomi says it does not use end-to-end encryption. The privacy and deletion guide goes through each route.
EU consumers should look at refund rights. Candy.ai's terms (section 10.4.3, checked 2026-10-29) give EU and UK users 14 days to withdraw from the first purchase, counted from the date the confirmation email was sent. Renewals are not covered, the value of services already used is deducted, and the refund is due within 14 days of notice; an email to [email protected] is enough. Nomi does not routinely refund unused time but may make exceptions at its discretion. OurDream says cancelling does not mean an automatic refund. GirlfriendGPT generally refunds only for payment errors or technical problems and reviews other requests within 14 days. Kupid's terms treat digital sales as final once used, and the official pages do not confirm any EU withdrawal process.
European regulators have acted against companion apps, though not in Dutch proceedings. Italy's Garante fined Luka, the company behind Replika, €5 million on 2025-04-10 over legal basis, transparency and age verification; an appeal has been noted. On 2026-07-03 it fined Character.AI's operator €158,000 and ordered corrective measures. These decisions show how EU privacy rules apply to the sector. They are not bans in the Netherlands.
Best picks for the Netherlands
The cards below cover features, pricing and account controls, and the scores use eight criteria that apply across the site. The order is not based on commission. None of these services has verified Dutch-language quality, an iDEAL option or an ID check for subscribers, so those points don't separate them. What does separate them is whether there is a recurring free allowance, whether action costs are published, how deletion works and how long data is kept after closure. Ratings are based on the documented facts available, and scores with limited data are preliminary.

Frequently asked questions
Is there a free AI girlfriend app?
Nomi has a free plan with no end date that allows 50 messages per day and needs no card, checked 2026-10-28. Candy.ai's free allowance is 5 messages in total, not per day. GirlfriendGPT describes 10 to 20 introductory messages in total across 2 to 3 characters. OurDream charges free accounts one coin per chat message.
How can I create an AI companion character for free?
Candy.ai's free allowance includes 1 created character and 1 generated image, checked 2026-10-28. On OurDream, creating a character with two images costs 10 Dreamcoins. Nomi's free plan includes chat, but voice is read-only without a subscription.
Can I pay with iDEAL?
None of the five services confirms iDEAL or SEPA on its public pages. Candy.ai lists cards, crypto, Apple Pay and Google Pay; GirlfriendGPT shows Visa, Mastercard and Discover; OurDream does not accept PayPal. Check the payment screen before you count on a method.
Are the prices including 21% BTW?
The official pages do not confirm a BTW-inclusive total at any checkout in this group. Nomi and OurDream publish prices in US dollars, Candy.ai uses a dollar sign without naming the currency, and Kupid shows weekly euro figures without a confirmed billed total. Look for a tax line on the final screen.
Which app works best in Dutch?
We have not verified Dutch conversation quality for any service here. Character.AI's Dutch App Store page lists a Dutch interface, but the app does not allow pornographic content and announced a Chapter 11 sale process on 2026-10-12. Replika's iOS language list does not include Dutch.
What does Replika cost in the Netherlands?
The Dutch App Store listed Replika items in euro, including monthly entries at €8.99 and €15.49, annual entries at €50.99, €55.99 and €64.99, and Annual ULTRA at €74.99, checked 2026-10-28. These are store listings, not a confirmed checkout. Deleting the account does not cancel billing.
How do I delete my account and data?
Nomi: Profile, Account Settings, Delete account, email verification, type DELETE. Candy.ai: My Profile, Settings, Danger Zone, Delete Account. OurDream: Profile, danger zone, delete my account, processed in 24 to 48 hours. GirlfriendGPT and Kupid handle erasure through a request to support or the data controller.
