Secrets AI review: daily messages, Moments and US-dollar billing for Dutch users

When each fact was checked

We last checked the Secrets tier guide, the Moments cost table and the free limits on 2026-10-29. That check confirmed three points:

• 20 sent messages per day on the free tier
• a 100-message total for custom characters
• a Basic video rate of 600 Moments for a fixed eight seconds without audio

The 600-Moment video rate replaces an older description of 320 Moments for five seconds. On 2026-10-28 we checked the Trustpilot snapshot, the operator disclosure and the changelog entry that documents male companions. The privacy policy is dated 2026-04-10. This page was updated on 2026-11-01.

There is no hands-on test date. Everything below is based on official documents checked on the dates given, so features are described as documented, not as observed in use.

Plans, Moments and what a month really costs

Secrets sells two paid tiers, each billed monthly or yearly. Premium costs US$19.99 per month. The annual Premium plan is one US$109.99 purchase, shown as a US$9.17 monthly equivalent. That figure is only for comparison: you pay for the whole year at once, not US$9.17 each month.

Ultimate costs US$39.99 per month or US$319.99 per year, shown as a US$26.67 monthly equivalent. Both tiers include unlimited messaging. Premium adds 8,000 Moments a month and Ultimate adds 15,000. According to the official guide, a seasonal sale can discount the first term only, and the renewal goes back to the regular price.

Monthly grants reset each month, so unused grant Moments do not carry over. Purchased top-ups are different. They do not expire, and you need an active paid membership to buy them. Premium members get a 10 percent bonus on top-ups and Ultimate members get 15 percent.

Monthly plans have one exception. If you upgrade mid-cycle, your unused grant turns into non-expiring top-up Moments. Check which kind of balance you are spending before you buy more.

The real monthly cost depends on whether your use fits inside the grant. Take a Premium month with this mix:

• 30 minutes of audio calls: 1,500 Moments
• 40 Premium images: 2,000 Moments
• one additional custom character: 500 Moments
• two Basic videos: 1,200 Moments
• spoken replies totalling about 20,000 characters: 2,000 Moments

That comes to 7,200 of the 8,000 Moments, so the month still costs US$19.99.

A heavier Ultimate month might look like this:

• five 720p Cinematic videos: 6,000 Moments
• 60 call minutes: 3,000 Moments
• 60 images: 3,000 Moments
• two extra characters: 1,000 Moments

That uses 13,000 of 15,000 Moments and stays at US$39.99. Top-up pack prices were not among the figures checked on 2026-10-29, so we cannot put a cash figure on spending beyond the grant.

Text-to-speech costs 10 Moments per 100 characters, rounded up, with a minimum of 20 characters. Enhanced text and audio tags count towards the total. A 450-character spoken reply therefore costs 50 Moments, the same as one minute of a live call.

Dutch buyers should look at the payment screen before confirming. The published amounts are in US dollars, and the documents do not say whether tax is included. If the checkout shows a gross amount with 21% BTW already in it, do not add it again when you budget. Afterwards, compare the euro amount on your bank statement with the dollar price you accepted. Characters, memory, voice and media

Characters and sharing. You can create your own companions or browse community characters, and each one can be private, shared or public. The creation guide sets an age range of 18 to 99 for characters. The 2026-10-28 changelog confirms male companions, in addition to the gender selection described in the guide.

Settle the visibility of an invented character before you publish it. Once another user starts a conversation with a shared character, you cannot unshare it. Because that choice can become permanent, keep a character private until you are sure.

Two different character entitlements. Your first custom character is free, and each additional one costs 500 Moments. This creation fee is separate from the free 100-message custom-character total. One limits how many characters you own; the other limits how much a free account can chat with them.

Memory. Secrets describes memory as per companion, covering conversation context plus important details saved automatically. That explains how continuity is supposed to work, but no context size is given and recall has not been measured. If a long story matters to you, keep your own notes on a character's background.

Voice. Voice messages and audio calls are both documented, and they are priced in different units: calls cost 50 Moments per minute, and spoken text costs 10 Moments per 100 characters. It is unclear whether calls work on the free tier. The subscription overview marks them as available on Free, yet a note in the same guide says features that cost Moments need a paid subscription, and free accounts cannot buy Moments. Plan on calls being a paid feature.

Images and video. Images can be realistic or anime in style, and companions can send selfies in chat. Video comes in several modes, from Basic to Cinematic, each with its own price, so no single rate covers all video.

Language. Secrets claims chat support for all major languages but does not list them. Dutch is not named, and we have not verified the quality of Dutch dialogue. English is the safer choice until you have tried a few Dutch exchanges yourself.

Platforms. Secrets is documented as a web service. A native iOS or Android app was not confirmed on the dates checked.

Adult content: what the rules allow

Secrets allows adult text conversation and describes a mode called S3E as adult or spicy. The documents checked do not set out a separate rule for adult images, so do not assume every visual request will be fulfilled. Moderation behaviour has not been tested.

The custom-character rules contain two firm prohibitions:

• No characters based on real people, whether public figures or private individuals.
• No characters under 18.

Together with the 18 to 99 age range, these rules limit the product to invented adult personas. Breaking them risks losing the character and possibly the account.

Other users can see shared and public characters, so write their descriptions with that audience in mind. Once someone else has started chatting with a shared character, you can no longer withdraw it.

Privacy: jurisdiction, encryption, training and deletion

Secrets is run by Secret Labs Inc., registered at 8 The Green, Ste D, Dover, Delaware, United States. The privacy policy is dated 2026-04-10. A US company handles your data, not an EU-based operator. For privacy requests from the Netherlands, the listed contact is [email protected]. Send access or erasure requests to that address and keep a copy of what you send.

The documents checked do not claim end-to-end encryption, so do not assume it. They also say nothing about whether your chats are used to train models or how long data is kept. If either point matters to you, ask the legal contact for a written answer before sharing personal details in chat. Using an invented persona is a sensible default either way.

Deletion and cancellation are different things. When you cancel a subscription, your chats, memories, characters and media stay on the free account. That is a billing feature and says nothing about what happens to data after an erasure request. If you want your history gone, delete the account or send a written request.

Shared characters add one more caveat. A character that other users have started using cannot be unshared, so keep that in mind before deleting the account.

Sign-up and age checks

Secrets uses an age gate that requires you to be 18 or the age of majority where you live, and you confirm this yourself. The underage policy adds that the company may run registration checks, monitor accounts and ask for additional verification. It does not name a document check or an outside verification provider.

No specific age-check procedure for the Netherlands is described. In practice, you get in by self-declaration, with a possible check later. Character rules require every persona to be 18 or older.

Before paying, you can browse and chat on the free tier within the 20-messages-per-day limit. Paid plans can be bought by card (Visa, Mastercard or Discover) or with crypto. The crypto option covers more than 300 currencies, with a minimum of US$20. iDEAL, SEPA direct debit and PayPal are not among the documented methods. We have not tested a Dutch checkout, so check which options your account shows.

Bank statement, renewal and cancelling

Card payments show up on your statement as S LABS INC. Card subscriptions renew automatically, while prepaid keys do not. Once you cancel a crypto subscription, you cannot resume it.

To cancel, go to Settings, then Manage Subscription, then Cancel Subscription, choose a reason and confirm. Paid access runs until the end of the period you have paid for. After that the account becomes a free account and keeps your chats, memories, characters and media.

Pay attention to the renewal amount. A seasonal discount covers the first term only. On a yearly plan, the next charge is the full regular annual price, not the monthly equivalent. Note the renewal date when you subscribe.

Refunds are limited:

• There are no ordinary partial refunds, apart from statutory exceptions.
• EU and UK customers have a 14-day withdrawal right. An unused purchase is refunded in full, and a used purchase is refunded proportionally.
• Crypto payments are generally non-refundable.

If you plan to use the withdrawal right, ask within 14 days and before spending your Moments. That gives you the best chance of a full refund.

Points to watch before paying

None of these points suggest a scam. They are account rules that can catch out buyers who only look at the headline price. The current privacy policy and store pages name the operator. One older third-party review called the operator unnamed, but that was out of date when we checked on 2026-10-28.

A Trustpilot snapshot on 2026-10-28 showed a score of 4.5 from 287 reviews. It is a user rating at one point in time and does not verify individual claims.

• A first-period sale price can differ from the renewal price; check the amount in your account billing.
• Top-ups need an active paid membership, so a free account cannot buy Moments.
• The tier guide marks audio calls as available on Free but also says features that cost Moments require payment; do not count on free calls.
• The free custom-character allowance is 100 messages in total and does not renew.
• Prices are in US dollars, with no verified euro, iDEAL or BTW-inclusive checkout for the Netherlands.
• A shared character cannot be unshared once another user has started chatting with it.
• Crypto payments are generally non-refundable, and crypto subscriptions cannot be resumed after cancelling.

Secrets AI compared with Candy.ai, Nomi.ai and OurDream

The clearest difference from Candy.ai is the free tier. Secrets renews 20 messages every day. Candy publishes 5 chat messages, 1 created character and 1 generated image in total, with no daily renewal. Candy's first month is $9.99 and renews at $13.99. Its prices carry a dollar sign without stating the exact currency. Candy's policy permits AI training on chats; the Secrets materials say nothing about training.

Nomi.ai gives more free text, 50 messages a day, and says plainly that it does not use end-to-end encryption. Its policy does not allow nude companion photos.

OurDream has the same monthly price as Secrets, US$19.99. That includes 1,000 Dreamcoins a month, and free accounts pay one coin per message with no fixed free grant. Like Secrets, it prices voice calls at 50 units per minute.

Who Secrets suits and who should look elsewhere

Secrets fits adults who want unlimited text on a paid plan and don't mind keeping a separate budget for media and voice. It also suits people who like designing their own fictional characters and want control over who can see them.

• Adults who want a daily free allowance to try the service before paying.
• Users who mostly chat in text and use images or calls now and then.
• Creators who build their own characters and check sharing settings before publishing.
• Buyers comfortable paying in US dollars by card or crypto.

It fits less well in these situations:

• You want to pay with iDEAL, SEPA or PayPal.
• You need confirmed end-to-end encryption or a stated policy on model training.
• You expect long free conversations with a custom character, beyond the 100-message total.
• You want guaranteed natural Dutch dialogue.
• You need free voice calls.
