Candy AI free: what the free tier includes and what it costs afterwards

Free tier and paid plans side by side

The table keeps three units apart: free messages, paid subscription charges and monthly tokens. Prices appear exactly as displayed, with a dollar sign. We have not converted them to euros because the checkout currency and BTW treatment for Dutch buyers were not confirmed.

The monthly equivalents are the figures Candy displays. The quarterly and annual plans are each charged as one upfront payment.

From the free preview to a paid decision, step by step

1. Confirm your age at the entry gate. Candy's underage policy describes an 18+ self-declaration and says more local checks may be added. The free tier has the same requirement.
2. Create your one free character as an invented adult persona. The character builder offers realistic and anime styles (checked 2026-10-29). Leave out your real name, address, employer and family details. You can judge the format just as well without them.
3. Plan the five messages before you send them. The count is shared, so a greeting to one character and a test line to another come out of the same total. Use them to judge tone and presentation. Five messages are too few to show how well a character keeps track of details over a long story.
4. Use the single image carefully. It is counted separately from the messages and does not add to the chat allowance.
5. If you want to continue, open the checkout and check the currency there. The official payment help lists major credit cards, crypto, Apple Pay and Google Pay, and notes that local availability varies. That page does not name iDEAL, SEPA direct debit or PayPal, so don't assume they are available just because you see a card icon or a dollar price.
6. Budget the subscription and tokens as two separate costs. Premium includes 100 tokens per month and Plus includes 330. Candy's public pages do not publish the cost per action or token pack prices, so you can't work out how many images or other actions 100 tokens buy. Your real monthly total is the subscription charge plus any token top-ups, and only the subscription has a public price.
7. Expect the charge to show on your statement as EverAI. That is the descriptor of the operator, EverAI Limited (Malta, registration C107181). Some unverified Reddit reports describe people being surprised by EverAI charges, so it helps to know the name in advance and recognise it as a Candy payment.
8. Note your withdrawal right. Section 10.4.3 of the terms, checked 2026-10-29, gives EU buyers 14 days on the initial purchase, counted from the purchase confirmation email. It does not cover renewals, and the value of services you have already used is deducted. A clear, unequivocal statement is enough, such as an email to [email protected]. The refund must follow within 14 days of your notice.
9. To cancel, go to My Profile, then Settings, then Unsubscribe, and confirm the prompts. Paid access continues until the end of the current billing period. If you don't want the $13.99 renewal after the first month, cancel before the renewal date.
10. Delete the account separately if you want your data removed, because cancelling deletes nothing. Go to My Profile, then Settings, then Danger Zone, then Delete Account, and confirm.

When these facts were checked

We checked these sources on the dates shown:

• Trustpilot: on 2026-10-28 the profile showed a removal notice, so we can't give a current score. The notice does not say which guideline was involved.

Third-party sites describe the free tier and prices differently. One review site mentions about 5 messages a day and a seven-day Premium trial. A Spanish pricing article mentions about 30 messages a day. Another site lists 12.99 per month and a 5.99 annual equivalent. None of these match the current official pages, which show 5 messages in total, no verified trial, and $9.99 renewing at $13.99, with an annual charge of $47.88.

The privacy terms apply even if you never pay. The policy allows chats to be used for AI training and allows human review of de-identified interactions. The official pages do not show any claim of end-to-end encryption. Account data is generally kept for up to 3 years after your last activity, financial records for 10 years, and marketing data generally for no more than 2 years after your last interaction. We did not measure the quality of conversations in Dutch. A short free session is the only way to see how the characters respond in Dutch.
