18+ only. This page covers Janitor AI pricing and the Janitor+ subscription for adults in the Netherlands who write stories with fictional adult characters. JanitorAI has no affiliate programme with this site, so there are no checkout links for it here. If one specific limit brought you here, such as a free allowance, euro pricing or refund rights, three listed services publish clearer figures on those points:
- SpicyChat lists its prices in euros. Get A Taste costs €5.95 a month or €60 a year, True Supporter €19.95 or €199.95, and I'm All In €29.95 or €299.95. These prices took effect on 2026-09-08 and were checked 2026-10-28. The paid tiers list 4,000, 8,000 and 32,000 context tokens. Card payment is listed, but iDEAL and SEPA are not confirmed.
- Nomi has a free plan with no end date. It allows 50 messages per day and 400 characters per message, or 800 characters on a paid plan (checked 2026-10-28). Without a subscription, voice features become read-only. Nomi says its chats are not end-to-end encrypted. Its prices are in US dollars (Standard is US$15.99 a month), and no Dutch euro price was confirmed.
- Secrets AI gives free users 20 sent messages per day. The count resets 24 hours after your first message (checked 2026-10-29). Premium costs US$19.99 a month or US$109.99 a year. Its refund policy describes a 14-day EU withdrawal right, minus a proportional amount for service already used.
The Janitor AI alternatives comparison covers more services and scores them on the same eight documented-fact criteria. None of the numbers above tells you which service writes better fiction. They only show which limits are documented before you pay.

Short verdict: a free download with an optional paid tier
On iPhone, Janitor AI is the app called Janitor: Interactive Stories. The publisher is JanitorAI, INC, and its App Store developer address is 2093 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont, Delaware, in the United States. The Dutch App Store lists the app as a free download with optional Janitor+ purchases at €14.99 per month or €99 per year (checked 2026-10-28). The official web address is janitorai.com. These prices do not cover apps and browser pages with similar names unless the publisher matches.
The listing confirms a few concrete points:
- an English interface;
- a minimum of iOS 15.5;
- an 18+ age rating, with in-app Age Assurance;
- an interactive-fiction format built around characters and worlds that users create, plus community characters.
It does not give a numerical free allowance, a memory window, Dutch conversation quality or a confirmed BTW breakdown. If you are weighing whether Janitor+ is worth €14.99, you would be paying without any published usage figures.
Outside opinion is mixed. On 2026-10-28, Janitor AI's Trustpilot page showed 2.5 out of 5 from 35 reviews, a small and self-selected sample. The Canadian App Store showed 4.2 from 467 ratings. Neither figure is an editorial score. The displayed score is preliminary and based on limited documented product facts; memory, dialogue quality and visuals have not been tested and should not be inferred from it.
Scores by criterion
Limited data (4/8 criteria). Scores are computed from each app's published terms, pricing, policies and store listings on the dates shown. We have not yet run paid test accounts; when we do, experience criteria will be added and the cap on the total score removed. Affiliate links never change a score. A score marked Full data rests on all eight criteria. Provisional means five to seven criteria could be scored from published facts. Limited data means only three or four criteria could be scored; such totals are capped at 3.5 and should be read as a floor, not a verdict. Apps with fewer than three scorable criteria get no total. Totals are weighted means of the scored criteria only and move when missing facts get documented. Full methodology

When these facts were checked
We checked the Dutch, US and Canadian App Store listings, the Janitor+ prices and the publisher details on 2026-10-28. The Trustpilot figure comes from the same day. The page was last updated on 2026-10-29. The iOS 15.5 requirement is a compatibility condition from the listing and has nothing to do with the price check. Store prices can change between visits, so the amount on your own Apple confirmation screen is the one that counts.
Janitor+ prices in the Dutch App Store
The Dutch App Store shows two Janitor+ items: €14.99 for a month and €99 for a year. Other storefronts charge different amounts for the same purchases, and those are separate prices rather than conversions of the Dutch ones. In the US store they cost US$12.99 and US$99, and in the Canadian store CA$17.99 and CA$129. All three were checked on 2026-10-28. Keep this in mind on English-language forums: a figure of 12.99 is a dollar price for a US account, not a cheaper route for a Dutch one.
The €99 item is a single charge for twelve months, not €99 every month. Spread over a year, that is €8.25 a month. Twelve monthly payments would come to €179.88, so the annual option saves €80.88 if you use the app all year. You only get that saving if you already know the app suits you. A one-month purchase keeps the risk to €14.99.
The subscription price is the amount to budget for. Janitor+ lists no separate token system or per-message charge, so these two figures are the entire published cost. The listing also does not say what Janitor+ adds over free use, so we can say what the subscription costs but not what it unlocks in practice.
On tax, these figures are not labelled here as including 21% BTW. The Dutch listing shows the store price, and the BTW line appears on your final Apple confirmation and receipt. The listing also does not say which payment methods Apple offers for this purchase in the Netherlands. The usual Dutch options of iDEAL, SEPA, PayPal and credit card are not confirmed for this Apple purchase, so check the payment screen instead of assuming. Janitor's web subscription documents card payment and is managed through a Stripe billing page.
Some comparison sites call Janitor AI completely free. That leaves something out: free access exists alongside the optional Janitor+ purchases above. For euro pricing across more services, see the overview of AI companion apps in the Netherlands.
| App Store | Janitor+ monthly | Janitor+ yearly (one charge) | Checked |
|---|---|---|---|
| Netherlands | €14.99 | €99 | 2026-10-28 |
| United States | US$12.99 | US$99 | 2026-10-28 |
| Canada | CA$17.99 | CA$129 | 2026-10-28 |
What Janitor offers: characters, worlds and platforms
The official description presents Janitor as interactive fiction. You build characters and the worlds they live in, and you can also use characters made by other community members. No catalogue size is published, so we can't say how many community characters exist or how they are sorted. Character creation is the main feature. Whether you can import characters from other tools or export them is not documented.
Janitor runs on the web at janitorai.com and as an iPhone app. The app needs iOS 15.5 or later, which rules out older iPhones that can't run that version. The listing names English as the interface language and does not list Dutch. Dutch players can still type in Dutch, but nothing documents how well conversations hold up in Dutch, so expect English to be the default.
Janitor's own help article explains how to cancel an Android subscription through Google Play. That points to an Android route, but no Google Play listing was confirmed, and no official APK or progressive web app is documented. On Android, check that the publisher name is JanitorAI before you install anything.
Roleplay players usually care most about long-term memory, voice and images, and the listing answers none of these questions. This review leaves them open instead of guessing. If documented memory is your priority, Nomi publishes its memory tools, including Mind Maps, backstories and shared notes, and SpicyChat publishes context sizes for each paid tier. Neither publication proves better recall in practice.
Adult content: what the 18+ rating does and does not say
Janitor has an 18+ rating on the App Store. That rating classifies the app as a whole by age. It is not a content policy and does not say which kinds of roleplay the service allows, blocks or moderates. Searches such as 'janitor ai no filter' or 'janitor ai uncensored' assume rules that the official store listing does not describe.
Third-party sites that call Janitor entirely free already have the price wrong, as the Janitor+ listing checked on 2026-10-28 shows. Be just as careful with what they say about content limits, and read the rules inside the service before relying on any expectation.
Whatever a platform allows, this site applies the same baseline: fictional adult characters, created by you or by the community, and nothing involving real, identifiable people. If you want adult text with documented settings, SpicyChat publishes controls for explicit language and image blurring. Its community guidelines require adult users and adult characters, and it says a character labelled safe-for-work does not guarantee that every conversation stays that way. That is a documented policy difference, not a verdict on story quality.
Privacy: a developer declaration, not an independent check
The privacy section of the App Store listing is the developer's own report. JanitorAI declares that it collects:
- contact information;
- user content;
- identifiers;
- usage data;
- diagnostics.
JanitorAI says none of this is linked to your identity. Apple states plainly that it does not verify these declarations. They tell you what the developer says, not what an auditor has confirmed.
In a story app, 'user content' means your messages and the characters and worlds you write. Saying this content is not linked to your identity is not a statement about encryption. It does not mean chats are end-to-end encrypted, kept out of model training, or deleted after a set period. Those questions are still open for Janitor, and nothing on this page should be read as a promise that nothing is stored.
The operator, JanitorAI, INC, is a US company with a Delaware address. Dutch users may want to know that before putting personal details into a story. On any platform with unclear retention rules, it makes sense to leave identifying information such as your real name, address and workplace out of roleplay prompts.
Some listed services do publish concrete privacy details. Nomi says its chats are not end-to-end encrypted and that personal information is removed within about 28 days of account deletion, with stated exceptions. Its privacy policy is dated 2026-04-27. Janitor currently offers no concrete statements of this kind, even unflattering ones.
Sign-up, login and age verification
Apple's listing rates Janitor 18+ and says the app uses in-app Age Assurance. It does not name the company behind that check or explain how it works. We don't know whether it relies on a selfie estimate, an identity document or a store-level signal, and no separate procedure for the Netherlands is described.
Some listed services document their checks. Character.AI names Persona as its provider, uses age estimation with selfie verification when needed and an ID fallback, and says it does not receive the identity images. SpicyChat describes a video selfie with a possible ID fallback and makes the check mandatory in the UK, France, Italy, Australia and selected US states. The Netherlands is not on that list, and its absence should not be read as an exemption for Dutch users.
You can log in to Janitor on the web and in the iPhone app. Whether one account, its story history and a Janitor+ purchase carry over between the two is not documented. An Apple subscription is tied to your Apple ID, while a web subscription runs through Stripe, according to Janitor's cancellation help. If you use both, note where you paid, because that is where you will have to cancel.
Cancelling Janitor+ and what happens after
Janitor's subscription help article gives one cancellation route for each place you can buy Janitor+:
- Web: Settings, then Billing, then Manage Subscription. This opens the Stripe billing page, where you cancel.
- iPhone: cancel in the App Store subscription settings for your Apple ID.
- Android: cancel through Google Play.
Use the route that matches where you paid. You cannot stop an Apple-billed Janitor+ subscription on the Stripe page, and a web subscription does not show up in your Apple subscriptions.
After you cancel, Janitor+ stays active until the end of the billing period you already paid for. The account then drops back to the free tier on its own. On the €14.99 monthly plan, that is up to a month of continued access. On the €99 annual plan, it is the rest of the twelve-month term. Cancelling early in the year does not shorten the paid period, so if you are unsure about the app, start with a single month.
Deleting the app from your iPhone is not one of the published cancellation steps. Cancel through the App Store settings instead. Then check that the subscription shows an end date rather than a renewal date, and keep the Apple confirmation email.
Points to weigh before paying
None of the points below suggests misconduct. Each is a gap or nuance that limits how far you can rely on the listing.
- The 'free' label covers the download, not a published amount of free use.
- €99 is one charge for twelve months, not a monthly debit.
- Neither BTW treatment nor iDEAL support is confirmed for the Dutch listing.
- The developer self-reports the privacy categories, and Apple does not verify them.
- Age Assurance is named, but its provider and procedure are not.
- Trustpilot showed 2.5 out of 5 from 35 reviews on 2026-10-28, a small sample.
- Apps and sites with similar names may not be the JanitorAI, INC product.
Who Janitor suits, and who should look elsewhere
Janitor fits an adult with an iPhone on iOS 15.5 or later who wants English-language interactive fiction, with self-built characters and worlds plus community creations. It also works for someone happy to start free and pay €14.99 for one month to judge Janitor+ for themselves.
It is a weaker fit if:
- You want a Dutch interface. The app is English only.
- You need a numeric free allowance before you commit. Nomi publishes 50 messages a day and Secrets AI 20 a day.
- You want documented privacy terms, such as encryption status or retention periods.
- You want confirmation that you can pay with iDEAL.
- You want to read written content rules before your first session.
If you mainly want a companion character rather than open-ended storytelling, the comparison of AI girlfriend apps scores services on eight criteria based on published facts. For Janitor-style roleplay, the Janitor alternatives page is the closer match.
Frequently asked questions
Which is the real Janitor AI app?
On iPhone, it is Janitor: Interactive Stories, published by JanitorAI, INC of Claymont, Delaware, in the United States. The official website is janitorai.com. An app with a different publisher is a different product, and the Janitor+ prices on this page do not apply to it.
Is Janitor AI free?
The app is free to download. Janitor+ is an optional purchase at €14.99 a month or €99 a year in the Dutch App Store (checked 2026-10-28). The listing publishes no number of free messages per day or in total, so 'free' does not mean unlimited.
Is 21% BTW included in the €14.99 price?
This page does not label the price as tax-inclusive. The Dutch listing shows €14.99 and €99. Check the tax line on your final Apple confirmation and receipt.
Can I pay for Janitor+ with iDEAL?
That is not confirmed. On the web, the documented route is card payment through Stripe. On iPhone, you can use whatever options Apple shows on your own payment screen.
Is there an AI chat without an NSFW filter?
No listed service promises to remove every limit. Each sets its own rules. SpicyChat, for example, documents explicit-language settings and prohibits illegal content and minors. Character.AI has no paid option to remove its filter. Janitor's 18+ rating is an age classification, not a statement of what content is allowed.
Does Janitor AI work in Dutch?
The iPhone interface is listed in English only. You can type in Dutch, but the quality of Dutch conversations is not documented.
How do I cancel Janitor+?
On the web, go to Settings, then Billing, then Manage Subscription, and cancel on the Stripe billing page. On iPhone, cancel in the App Store. On Android, cancel through Google Play. Access continues until the paid period ends, and the account then returns to the free tier.
What are good Janitor AI alternatives?
That depends on which limit you want to change. SpicyChat publishes euro prices, Nomi offers 50 free messages a day and Secrets AI offers 20. The alternatives comparison puts them side by side.
